Gerardo Tristan\/ Wotko, is a Nahuatl, antispeciesist and queer activist and community organizer from Monterrey, Mexico with over 30 years of experience working on a wide range of social issue such as indigenous\/lgbtq \/animal rights and food justice.
\nHe will do a talk called „On the edge of the margins: Being a Native American,Queer, Imigrant and Antispeciesist within the AR US movement.“<\/p>\n

„This is a very personal presentation. I share here my experience as a native american and queer AR activist trying to belong to the AR community and work for animals in this country. The challenges, hopes and opportunity for me and the lessons learned in this 15 years working as an activist (volunteer) and as a paid worker within this movement and the challenges that the current political context in the USA presents for me and other activist in my situation.“<\/p>\n

Before the talk there will also be a cooking class with Gerardo on how to cook all things Corn ( Indigenous Mexican foods). more info<\/a><\/p>\n

\nGerardo Tristan\/ Wotko, is a Nahuatl, antispeciesist and queer activist and community organizer from Monterrey, Mexico with over 30 years of experience working on a wide range of social issue such as indigenous\/lgbtq \/animal rights and food justice. From working as a coordinator of an international students group volunteering in the mountains of central Mexico helping indigenous coffee cooperatives in the summer of 2002 to being a collaborator at the Zapatista\u2019s (EZLN) peace talk process during the spring of 1994, Gerardo has always been involved in vital issues in his country. In the fall of 2015 Gerardo founded \u201cFaunAccion in CDMX, the group\u2019s mission is to empower activists and agents of change by providing them with education and relevant tools for their activism. Gerardo is also a co-funder of La Raza for liberation and is currently working on two food justice projects: El Molcajete, a food education program on wheels in Mexico and The Chestnut Tree Reclamation Project in TN, USA.<\/p>\n
